Week 1: Around The World…International drama and storytelling with Sankofa Storytelling Arts

Dates: 25th - 29th July

Times: 10am - 2pm

Conceived and delivered by Sankofa Storytelling Arts, the week will take children on an international journey, bringing cultures and stories to life through a range of create-your-own comics and combining action packed days of drama, dance, crafts - and, of course, food.

We'll go on a whirlwind trip around the world through the vehicle of participatory storytelling, tasting traditional inspired fruits and creating imaginative solutions to sustainable sharing.

Sankofa Storytelling Arts is a drama company for wellbeing and success led by Vanessa Browne. ‘Sankofa’ is loosely based on the concept of embracing the wisdom from all experiences and lessons from the past, in order to responsibly enhance and inform our future.

Week 2: Dance and games with Remix Dance

Dates: 1st - 5th August, with performances on 6th August at the Regents Park Estate Community Festival

Times: 10am - 2pm

Remix Dance creates 4 hours of fun dance games as well as teaching a range of Street Dance routines. This will be a fun programme, with lots of opportunities for the children to express their interests and talents through movement.

The age groups will be split when appropriate and all joined together for some parts of the programme and for the final day for a mini showcase at the end of the session.

The HAF programme predominantly supports children in our community who receive free school meals during term-time with school holiday programmes and food.

For both weeks, a hot lunch is provided on each day, plus snacks, and a festive food and gift hamper will be given to each child on the last day.
